Philip J. Giblin, 78, of Central Square passed away on Thursday at Crouse Hospital following a brief illness. An Army Veteran of the Korean war, Philip worked in the Maintenance Department at General Electric for many years. Philip's only hobby was his family. He loved his kids and grandkids and loved to travel with them. Philip was predeceased by his wife, Emma; and daughter, Molly in 2003; and his son, William in 2005. Surviving are his daughter, Patti (Wayne Roesser) Giblin; his son, James (Erica); his brother, Timothy Giblin; his daughter-in-law, Vicki; his grandchildren, Michael, Tabatha (Chad) Humphrey, Jessica, P.J. (Melissa), Jed, Jason, Ashley, Samatha, Jarrett, Joshua, Timothy, Molly, Chloe and Sophia; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Lucy's Church, Syracuse with Entombment following at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parents of Special Children, 2 Tower Dr. Suite B, Fulton, NY 13069.
