(Research):Dennis Dawkins was born in Hermosa Beach, CA and spent his childhood years in Gardena, CA. Graduating from Gardena High School in 1961, he went on to work for United Parcel Service as a driver and then management, retiring after twenty-eight years of service.

Dennis had many passions in his life including water skiing, boat building, and motorcycle riding. His number one favorite sport was water skiing, where he was a member of the USA Water Ski Team in 1973 and 1974 where he finished 11th out of 624 skiers. He was also a National Water Ski Racing champion in 1968 and 1974.

He used his UPS route to prepare for his ski races where he traveled around the world and twice in Australia skied the Bridge to Bridge.

Upon retirement from UPS, Dennis and his wife Cathy started All Affair Limousine. After twelve years in the limousine business he retired and enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by Cathy, his wife of ten years; son, Matt; daughters, Tracy and Michelle; step-daughters, Christa and Courtney; grandson, Mason; and sons-in-law, Matt, David, and Evan; as well as all the other lives he has touched.

A celebration of his life will be held: viewing at Luyben Family Dilday Mottell Mortuary from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011. Funeral Services at St. Cyprian Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011.
Burial at All Souls Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011.
