(Research):Ruth W. "Nonie" Retorick, 88, of Philipsburg, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday, February 20, 2012.
Born on September 12, 1923, in Moshannon, she was the daughter of the late Andrew & Elizabeth Wagner Retorick, Sr.
Ruth was a 1941 graduate from Snow Shoe High School. She lived most of her adult life in Johnstown. She was a Seamstress for K-Artly Apparel until her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith.
Ruth was an avid Mahjong player.
Ruth is survived by; one brother, Robert Retorick of Philipsburg; four sisters, Lillian Gavlock of Moshannon, Dorothy Light of Bristol, Barbara Padisak of Snow Shoe and Betty Jozefik of Moshannon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, brother Andrew Retorick Jr, and sister Emma Jane Light.
Ruth's wishes were for all services to be private. She will be laid to rest at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe Twp, at the convenience of the family.

Moshannon, Pennsylvania - Lillian P. Gavlock, 95, of Moshannon, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Born on December 27, 1924, in Moshannon, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Wagner) Retorick. On February 9, 1946, she married Andrew J. Gavlock. Andrew passed away in 1987.
Lillian was a 1942 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. She was a member of the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Snow Shoe.
Lillian was a homemaker. She found pleasure in providing a clean and safe home for her family. She was a strong Christian and had genuinely believed, that through Jesus Christ, all things are possible. She prayed daily for her family and trusted that those prayers would be answered.
Lillian is survived by her children; Jacqueline L. Wood and her husband, Clayton, of Snow Shoe, and Robert A. Gavlock, Sr and his wife, Connie, of Moshannon and one sister, Barbara Padisak and her husband, Edward, of Snow Shoe.
She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Uriah Wood and his wife, Jessica, of Jersey Shore, Jonathan Green of Moshannon, Joshua Gavlock and his companion, Amy, of Centre Hall, Robert Gavlock, Jr and his wife, Spencer, of Mill Hall, and Kyle Gavlock and his wife, Alesha, of Moshannon; and nine great grandchildren, Tucker Etzweiler, Bane Wood, Carter Gavlock, Thane Gavlock, Adalynn Gavlock, Gibson Gavlock, Alex Gavlock, Kendall Gavlock, and Charlotte Gavlock.
Along with her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by two brothers: Andrew Retorick, Jr and Robert Retorick, and four sisters: Emma Jane Light, Dorothy Light, Ruth Retorick, and Betty Josefik.
A memorial service will be held on a later date. Lillian will be laid to rest privately at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Twp.

(Research):Robert T. Retorick, 90, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born on March 3, 1927, in Moshannon, he was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Wagner Retorick.
Robert attended the Snow Shoe High School. He was of the Protestant faith. He worked at various jobs until his failing eye sight made it impossible for him to continue. With all the jobs he held over the years, his favorite place to work was the J.H. France Refractory in Clarence. He had a lot of fond memories working there that he continually shared with his family.
He enjoyed working on cars. He always had a car or two in his garage that he was working on. He loved spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his three daughters; Jennie Retorick of Clarence, Joyce Baranak and her husband, Tim, of Clarence, and Barbara Kachik and her companion, Dave, of Moshannon. Also surviving are his two grandchildren; Brandon Baranak and Travis Kachik, one great granddaughter, Emma Kachik, and two sisters; Barbara Padisak and her husband, Edward, of Snow Shoe, and Lillian Gavlock of Moshannon.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew Retorick, Jr., and three sisters; Dorothy Light, Ruth Retorick, and Betty Jozefik.
With respects to Roberts wishes, there will be no public services. He will be laid to rest at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe Twp.

(Research):Barbara A. "Barb" Padisak, 87, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born on June 13, 1933, in Moshannon, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Wagner) Retorick. On February 27, 1954, she married Edward Padisak, who survives at home.
Barb attended the Snow Shoe High School. She worked at the Peoples Bank and the Omega Bank, both in Snow Shoe as a Bank Teller for many years before retirement, She was a founding member of the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Snow Shoe. She had a strong Christian belief and loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.
Barb was an excellent cook and baker. Her home was always in order and she always welcomed visitors. She enjoyed helping with church activities and helping others in the community. She enjoyed family time, especially with her grandchildren and great grandson.
Barb is survived by her husband, Edward; one son, Patrick E. Padisak and his wife, Sandi, of Snow Shoe and two daughters, Kim D. Taylor and her husband, Thomas, of Clarence, and Lisa A. Johnson of Moshannon. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Thomas Taylor, Travis Taylor, Noah Padisak, and Wyatt Padisak, one great grandson, Silas Taylor, and another great granddaughter on the way.
Along with her parents, Barb was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Johnson, two brothers, Andrew Retorick and Robert Retorick and five sisters: Dorothy Light, Ruth Retorick, Lillian Gavlock, Betty Jozefik, and Emma Jane Light.
There are no services planned at this time. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 675 E. Sycamore Road, Snow Shoe, PA 16874.

(Research):David J. Jozefik, 86, of Moshannon, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born on July 6, 1928, in Clarence, he was the son of the late John and Helen Ludwig Jozefik. On October 8, 1955, in Clarence, he married Betty L. Retorick, who passed away on May 28, 2012.
David attended the Clarence School. He was enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War. For his service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
David worked for JH France Refractories, doing many different jobs before retiring in 1994.
David was a founding member of the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was a member of the Snow Shoe VFW Post 5644, and the Clarence American Legion Post 813. He lived a simple life. He did not want for too much but would give his family all he could. Since he and his wife were unable to have children, their nieces and nephews were like their children. David loved being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, baseball being his favorite. He enjoyed being with family. He, along with Betty, would cook huge meals for no reason other than to have the entire family come together.
David is survived by a brother, Michael Jozefik and his wife, Esther, of Kylertown and a sister, Margaret Stephens of St. Petersburg, Florida. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by seven brothers; Joseph, John, Edward, Andy, Steve, George, and Edward, and five sisters; Mary Schall, Anna Rogus, Agnes Jozefik, Helen Drake, and Sophie Jozefik.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1pm at the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Snow Shoe with Pastor Duane White officiating. Full military honors will be given by the Mountaintop Honor Guard.
Burial will be private at the Askey Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special THANK YOU to Tommy Taylor for taking such great care of his uncle over the years.
