(Research):Bessie V. Richards, 67, Glasgow, died Monday at her residence. She was born in Irvona, daughter of the late James and Faye (Meckley) Beals. She married Donald B. Richards July 4, 1959, in Glasgow, and he died Jan. 6, 2009. Surviving are three sons: Terry B. of Suffolk, Va., Doug M. of Flinton and Donnie J. of Glasgow; two daughters: Lori A. and Chris K., both of Glasgow; 10 grand- children; eight great-grandchildren; and six siblings: Eleanor Huey of Sanborn, Dorothy Baum of St. Augustine, Leroy, Harold and Clifford, all of Fallentimber, and David of Coalport. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Dick and Bob; and a sister, Marcella. Bessie retired as a seamstress from DDJ Clothing in Madera. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, and noon to the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, officiated by the Rev. Ben Warfel. Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.

(Research):FALLENTIMBER - David Eugene Beals, 75, of Fallentimber (Hollentown), died Friday, Oct. 7, 2022 at his residence.

He was born May 16, 1947 in Irvona, a son of James Edward Beals and Fay LaRue (Meckley) Beals.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a corrections officer at SCI Smithfield.

Surviving are his children, David Eugene Beals Lynn Ann Areno, and Amanda Beals
companion, Patricia Chaplin; son, Shane Chaplin; sisters, Dorothy Baum, E. Ruth Huey; and brother, Harold Beals.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marcella Beals and Bess Richards; brothers, Bob Beals, Richard Beals, Clifford Beals and Leroy Beals.

Services will be held at a later date.
