Youngstown - Jordan E. Tsvetanoff, 94, of Youngstown, died Saturday morning January 19, 2019 at Park Vista Retirement Center in Youngstown. Mr. Tsvetanoff was born January 11, 1925 in Youngstown, a son of Eli and Mary (Kraynek) Tsvetanoff and had been a lifelong area resident.
Jordan was a 1943 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and had been a machine operator for Commercial Intertech for many years. He also worked for Little Forest nursing home. Jordan and his wife were founding members and loyal parishioners of St. Mark Antiochian Orthodox Church in Liberty, where he was also a member of the choir for many years. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Jordan married the love of his life, the former Stella Gibbons, on April 21, 1944 in Norfolk, Va. They were married for 73 wonderful years. She died on December 17, 2017.
Jordan was proud to have served our nation as part of the United States Navy during WWII. He served in the Navy aboard LSM 132 (landing ship medium), which transported personnel. He remained close to his shipmates throughout his life. Jordan loved to travel with his wife and especially enjoyed reuniting with his Navy friends and their families for their annual WWII Navy reunions. Family and friends were Jordan's love and joy. He enjoyed taking car rides to visit them, and was always looking forward to the next road trip with his wife. He loved staying current with the latest technology, always upgrading to the newest phone or computer, and even utilizing social media in his 80s and 90s. Jordan was an avid sports fan who loved watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, the YSU Penguins and also the Cleveland Indians. In his later years, he looked forward to his weekly lunches out with his family.
Jordan is survived by daughters, Barbara Larson of Youngstown and Patricia (Dennis) Weiss of Liberty; a son, Jordan (Judy) Tsvetanoff of Struthers; son-in-law, Alan Chernushin of Boardman; grandchildren, Alex Weiss of Youngstown, Sarah (Christian) Hunter of Hubbard, Tara (Steve) Kish of Campbell, Rachel (Greg) Jackson of Canfield, Kara (Donald) Riccitelli of Boardman, Shawn (Jennifer) Chernushin of Sunnyvale, Calif.; Gary Heasley (Liz) of Niles, and Jordan (Rachel) Tsvetanoff of Twinsburg; and great-grandchildren Karlynn, Mackenzie and Alan Riccitelli, and Adam and Laurel Jackson.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Chernushin; son-in-law, Fred Larson; three sisters, and four brothers.
Per Mr. Tsvetanoff's wishes, funeral services will be private. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.

YOUNGSTOWN – There will be services Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard, for Fred P. Larson, 67, who passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at home.
Fred was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of Fred G. and Marcella A. Zins Larson, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a cabinet maker for over 40 years, at McRoyal Industries of Youngstown, retiring in 1998, and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 171 of Youngstown.
He had completed the Journeyman Carpenters Union Apprenticeship and had volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was also active in community service.
Fred was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Hubbard and served in many different capacities.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Tsvetanoff, whom he married Sept. 9, 1967; his sister, Karen DeMatteo of Hubbard; several nieces and nephews, including his nephew, Greg DeMatteo; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jordan and Stella Tsvetanoff of Boardman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be calling hours Friday, July 23, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home and Saturday, July 24, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church.
Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.

POLAND - Linda Ann Chernushin, 57, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 11, 1953, in Youngstown, a daughter of Jordan and Stella Gibbons Tsvetanoff.
Linda was a 1971 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and earned an associate degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University. She was a registered nurse for 35 years, working for WRCS/Forum Health at South Side Hospital, Beeghly Same Day Surgery, and most recently at Forum Health Northside Medical Center as a surgical nurse. She was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association.
She loved beach vacations, walking, gardening, shopping and most of all, spending time with her cherished husband, children and granddaughters.
Linda was well-known for her captivating, ever-present smile, which was the perfect complement to her kind and generous nature. Her spirit touched and inspired all of those who were lucky enough to have known her. Heaven is a brighter place with her in it.
Besides her parents of Boardman, she is survived by her husband, Alan Chernushin, whom she married April 21, 1973; a daughter, Kara (Donald) Riccitelli of Boardman; a son, Shawn (Jennifer) Chernushin of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Barbara Larson of Poland and Patricia (Dennis) Weiss of Liberty; a brother, Jordy (Judy) Tsvetanoff of Struthers; two granddaughters, Karlynn and Mackenzie Riccitelli, who absolutely adored her; many nieces and nephews; and several other close friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father-in-law, Alex Chernushin; and her brother-in-law, Fred Larson, who was her soul mate.
Family and friends will be received Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where there will be funeral services at 4 p.m. Private interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
