He was the husband of Patricia (nee Slomski); father of Nora DeFrancisco of Chicago, Mary Pat (Richard) Miller of St. Charles, Margaret (Patrick) Bucaro of Prospect Heights, William (Deborah) Smith of Arlington Heights and Eileen (Benny) Redzepi of Roscoe, Ill.; brother of the late Roger Smith, Thomas (Sarah) Smith, Brian (Joanne) Smith and Jack (Regina) Smith; grandfather of 17; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
