Charles Chuck M. Coyne, 80, of Rockport, passed away quietly on Friday evening, September 27, 2013 at his home in Rockport. Chucks be-loved wife of 49 years, Joan P. (Scipione) Coyne, passed in 2012. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 12, 1933, the son of the late Marcus and Margaret (Butler) Coyne. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and from Duquesne University, both in Pittsburgh. Chuck also completed graduate work at Brown University. He enlisted and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a military policeman. Chuck pursued his career working as an auditor in Washington D.C. There he met the love of his life, Joan. They soon married and had two sons; happily raising them in Hingham while spending summers in Rockport. Chuck enjoyed a long and successful career in banking and he became the President of Mutual Advisory Corp. in Braintree. After his retirement, Chuck and Joan worked together at her company, Hingham Real Estate; dividing their time fairly evenly between golf and work. Later in life, they moved to White Cliffs in Plymouth where they could devote themselves full time to golf. Chuck was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who thoroughly enjoyed all of his family and friends. In his younger years, he could be found coaching his sons youth baseball teams, and volunteering for numerous charities. Grampy Chuck delighted in attending his grandchildrens athletic and theatrical events as well as spending time at home with the kids. He and Joan vacationed every winter in Naples, FL. He will be missed by his children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his two sons, David Coyne and his wife, Emily, and Christopher Coyne; his grandchildren, Charlie, Grace, Shannon, Clare and Kathryn Coyne, all of Rockport; his sister, Marge and her husband Ronald Gasbarro of Pittsburgh, PA; his brother, William Coyne and his wife, Cathy of Brielle, NJ. He was predeceased by his sisters, Audrey Lohstoeter, Grace Coyne and his brother, Jack Coyne. Services and burial will be private. Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022, age 81, of Aspinwall, formerly of Highland Park. She was the love of her husband Ronald Gasbarro's life. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1959, attended Robert Morris College and worked for Mellon Bank and Citizens Bank in various branches. In 1970 her and her husband Ron moved to Highland Park and her parents and sister Grace lived with them. She became the caretaker for all of them as her siblings and their families resided elsewhere. She loved life and enjoyed numerous family visits, especially birthdays and above all her large gatherings at Christmas, where she would prepare all of their favorite dishes. She enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and the Rivers Casino. She was proud of her Irish heritage, a member of the Daughters of Erin, and often marched on St. Patrick's Day, even through the snow of the blizzard of '93! She was predeceased by her parents, Marcus and Margaret Coyne, and her siblings Audrey, Charles, John and Grace. Left to mourn are her husband Ronald, brother William Coyne (Cathy), sister-in-law Marilyn Gasbarro Erbst (Fred), and brother-in-law Jack Gasbarro (Duffy); also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Friends received at McCabe Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Thursday and Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where Funeral will commence on Saturday at 9am followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Church, at 10 am.
