a possible fifth brother, married Honor Hegerty and raised his family in Croaghrim. [found in Ballintubber baptismal lists] There is, so far, minimal documentary evidence of this man, but his descendents remained on the family farm in Croaghrim. I do not know very much about these families.

Dad and mom are 2nd cousins 1x removed or 3rd cousins using DNA. Dad said that Grandma Collins said that there was a family connection with the McNally's. THat's all I know, but some McNally link to one of dad's ancestors would be needed to make that true.

Per Aunt May, Bridget Conoboy (mother of Sarah Collins) said that they were related to the McNally's of Barnahowna.


Bridget Darmody is a witness to her marriage. This is a clue to Mary's mother's family, as we believe that this Bridget is the son of Martin Darmody, and sister to Penelope, making Bridget Darmody Mary McNally's first cousin. And this links us to the Caseys, which we have believed were relations. .

Mary wasd alive when son Michael married in 1937, but father was dead. (Research):Dates of birth generally based on the ages in the census records, and marriage as no birth record can be found.

In 1900 US census is says she is a widow who had 6 children. None of the children are with her, and she is living with her brother in Chicago. She claims she came to US in 1888, yet we know she was in Scotland in 1881. And in 1881 we show no children either.

In 1910, still with brother, who is now married. In 1920, living with niece and nephew in home where she died. A J Collins is informant on the death cert.
