He was a decorated Veteran of the US Army, serving as a Combat Medic with the 101st Airborne Division, Vietnam. He was awarded 2 Purple Hearts and 2 Bronze Stars for Valor. He survived by his wife Kathleen "Kathy" (Nolan) Patton of Burton Twp., whom he married February 13, 1999 in their home in Woodbridge, VA, his daughter Shannon (Michael) Lappert of Newbury Twp., and cherished granddaughter Lauren Lappert. He also leaves siblings Elizabeth (Michael) Miller of Baltimore, MD, Owen (Danya) Patton of Camas, WA and Kevin (Maureen) Patton of Bay Village and 13 Nieces & Nephews. His father John L. Patton, Sr.and mother Eileen (Ward) Patton are deceased.
