Biography
John Bell was born in 1757 in Northern Ireland

Ann Drummond were married. He died in 1833, at age ~76, in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States

John served 1st with his father during Revolutinary War as an Ensign (1777-78) in Capt. Geo Bell's 8th Co. 5th Battalion, as a Lt (1780-82) in Capt Means Co of the Cumberland Militia, & as Capt (1793) in Co 4, 1st Kishacoquillas Regiment Militia Mifflin Co.
"Many stories were told of John Bell's prowess as a marksman in Indian warfare, in hunting, and on the practice field. He could load quicker that anyone else. A little black dog always accompanied him. On one occasion when a hawk tried to carry off a chicken, he shot the hark without harming the chicken. One day while going through the woods Jack saw an Indian. He dropped behind a stump and the Indian did likewise. Jack held his hat on the ramrod of his gun. The Indian saw the hat and fired. Jack dropped the hat, and the Indian, thinking he had killed his foe, jumped up to scalp him. Jack, seeing his chance,shot the Indian, whose gun was empty."

He never married and appeared on assessment roles as a freeman. In 1789 he was a signer to teh will of Geroge Sigler Sr a neighbor. He was a captain in teh militia in 2793. There is no record of him after the death of his father.
