(so this lines up nicely.) He states he had been in teh US from May 23, 1923 to 1938 and that his wife was Margaret Casey of 4629 North Moody, Chicago IL.
It also states he was the husband of a United States Citizen who was married before July 1, 1932. He was naturalized in 1942.

The reason the children were living with their grandparents was : their mother, Mary Darmody, had died, aged 33, of 'bowel obstruction'. I have seen her death record. Their father, James Casey, is still 'missing'. Family tradition says he used go to Scotland each year with the migrant potato pickers and possibly died or was murdered there.

The mother of the Casey family, Mary née Darmody, died aged 33 (in 1895) and the children were reared by their paternal grandmother, Anne Casey ( except for 4 year old Anne who went to live with her Darmody grandparents, further up the Glensaul valley).

We have finally discovered what became of James Casey ,,,,, of Glensaul, Co Mayo.
Born in 1858 and married to Mary Darmody, James died by drowning at Glenfinnan, Scotland, on 22nd September 1897.
We found some other interesting snippets as well eg Mary Casey (daughter of James and Mary) had married Michael Conroy, also of Glensaul, in 1902. They had a son, Pat, born February 1903 . Michael died , May 1903 and the baby died October 1904. Mary then went to the U S in May 1905 where she married Timothy Doyle, a widower with 4 children, from Oakland, Pittsburgh. Timothy died in Amherst, Ohio, not Cleveland.
Also, Mildred Moran (daughter of Anne Casey and Michael Francis Moran) died and is buried in Kilmeena, Westport, Ireland .... not in the U S.
It's been an exciting time. We were particularly happy to find James Casey. (Research):Not sure where mom and dad were but children living with their paternal grandmother
