I was thinking about this name, Denis. If the Denis of the John William line and age Michael of the Bridget line are brothers, then the name would be a family name. Of course, we've 2 Michael O'Briens in the Bridget family tree, so it could be that they are switched, if they are brothers, in terms of which Michael is which in her line. Denis also doesn't show in th 1901 census and perhaps had passed? More likely was shipped out to a relation, given the recent loss of the wife. Yup, 1911 census shows he's back with the step mom Ann.

When Winifred married, her father was not listed as deceased and this is the only Kilbride area family headed by a John that the ages work and who is alive in 1901.So in 1911 we see the same pattern and I think this fits.
