(Research):Melvin R. "Pete" Beals, 85, of Clearfield, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.

He was born on March 29, 1935 in Moshannon, a son of the late James W. Beals and Hazel M. (Watson) Beals.

Mr. Beals served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960.

He was employed as a truck driver since 1956 for various companies up until his retirement in 2004.

He was a member of West Side United Methodist Church and lifetime member of the Clearfield Elks Lodge 540. He enjoyed hunting at camp, taking hunting trips out West, and was an avid baseball fan.

Survivors include his wife Lona A. (Haney) Beals, whom he married May 3, 1958; two children, Kimberly Folmar and her husband Mark, and Brian R. Beals, all of Clearfield; four grandchildren, Ryan Folmar, Benjamin Folmar and his wife Jennifer, Brian J. Beals and his companion Deanna, and Brice J. Beals; one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Beals; and several nieces and nephews. He was the last member of his generation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, Elouise Hauser, James E. Beals, Dorothy W. Folmar, Theodore N. Beals, Marguerite E. Fanning, Paul E. Beals, and Patricia A. Barnyak.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

James Edward Folmar April 24, 1928 November 18, 2017 James Edward Folmar, 89, died November 18, 2017, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Chambersburg. He was born April 24, 1928, to Joseph and Hilda Jerdin Folmar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Beals Folmar; two brothers, Bob and Bill; and a sister, Florence. He is survived by a sister, Pauline Gruendler, of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and the following children: Judy Wood and husband Jim, of Grimesland, N.C.; Don Folmar and wife Cathy, of Chambersburg; Gary Folmar and wife Lisa, of Grassflat. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Craig Folmar and family, of Osceola Mills; Ryan Folmar and family, of Tulsa, Okla.; Eric Folmar and family, of West Monroe, La.; Andrew Folmar and family, of Burlington, N.C.; Nicole Folmar Fehr, of Philipsburg; Nathan Folmar, of Williamsburg; Scott Folmar and family, of Fayetteville; Catherine Folmar Truett and family, of Chambersburg; Jason Wood, of Greenville, N.C. 20 great-grandchildren also survive, along with many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2017, at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Vicki Beilfuss and Pastor Barry Folmar officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grane Hospice Care, 4 Lemoyne Dr., Suite 201, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
