I created this man who had to erxist but is unknown because a dna match taht would not work with known connectens would work if Luke Thornton, married to Honor Stanton had a brother (which he likely did, right?) So a descendent of this unknown brotyher would map out as the dna match did.

Not Luke Thornton was born in 1805. He was married. He died in The Neale, Mayo, IrelandG.

The big issue is that there seem to be 2 Lukes and each had a daughter named Mary who married different people (so really, not one person confused).

If there are 2 Luke Thorntons who were contemporaries, then they were not brothers, likely cousins. Luke who married Honor Staunton is a known quantity, andI'd offer up that Honor Thornton, proposed daughter of teh other Luke, should belong to the Luke Gibbons/Honor Thornton marriage.
