"Don had a passion for piano, and "good music", and played with the "High Fever Five" in Mansfield in the 1940s. He and Joan started their family in Wichita, but moved back to Mansfield in the mid 1950s. He had a long career as an amateur family barber, setting up a barber chair in the basement and using it often, and with much zeal, to the dismay of his young sons. Later in life he became a pilot, and loved to fly his two-seater Cessna to visit the kids and grandkids. In retirement, he enjoyed besting his sons at golf and puttering in his garden. He loved his family and was well loved in return."
