James McGing was born about 1778. He and Elizabeth were married in 1797.

Per Aunt May, our family came from a James McGing, son of Myles. And that there was another James McGing.

I presume this other James McGing to be the son of an unknown McGing, who is likelty to be a brother of Myles? Supposition.

This is all a guess.

Note that the descendents in this line are essentially here as a result of the research done by Pat Connelly and Tom Kenny. THey have done a lot of research and as the local experts in the area I have deferred to their familial experience.

In places where things may differ, likely due to later records being available.

I got the name James from the marriage record of Phillip. But I'm not sure that the time frame of this Thomas having kids makes sense... we are talking kids spanning from 1815 - 1837 - 22 years with many for whom there are no records, so this guy was pretty prolific. Bu there could have been two wives, it's just not possible to say. Given human nature, I'm going with the flow here. (Research):There is an 1841 Irish Petty Sessions for Westport for Sept 1841 naming 4 McGings from Ardara -

John, Austin, Thomas and James. I do not have a Thomas linked into this family unit, migt need to do so.
