My father had always been vague about his life and had always assumed that his brothers and sisters had died during the World Wars. He led me to believe that he arrived in this country around 1920 !! where he worked as a gardener in Cheam,SURREY until joining the 8th Army. He served in many theatres including Europe, North Africa ( Desert Rats)and Burma. Whilst awaiting the D Day landings he was posted in the South Hams.

It was in the South Hams that he met my mother, our family has lived in KINGSBRIDGE ever since.
