Also found as returning to US on Sept 11, 1921 on the Celtic, where she stayed with cousin Michael Quinn.

September 11, 1921 Mary McGing, age 30 and listed as single, arrived in New York City on the ship Celtic, having sailed steerage from Queenstown. Castlecara, Co Mayo is listed as her place of residence. Mary had visited the US in 1911, when she visited St. Louis. She paid her own fare, and arrived with $100. She was staying with her cousin Michael Quinn, 6608 Bartmer Ave, St Louis Missouri. She was 5 feet tall, with a fair complexion, brown hair and gray eyes. Her place of birth was Tourmakeady.

Shows living at 3840 Russel St in 1930 census. Also shows age 30 and came to US in 1915. Lived with brother Patrick.

I realize that there are date discrepancies with Michael and Martin; perhaps there were two Martins and Michael made himself younger. And depending on how old Thomas was may imply his mom's age is either incorrect or that she gave birth young.

Mass for Martin J. McGing, 78, a retired Chicago Post Office supervisor, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Angela Catholic Church, 5758 W. Potomac Av. Mr. McGing, of 300 N. State St., died Thursday in Northwestern Memorials Hospital. He retired 12 years ago as a supervisor in the mail department of the Post Office, where he had been employed for more than 30 years. He had been an officer of the Harp and Shamrock Club. Surviving are his wife, Mary Agnes; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Powers and Mrs. Sheila Aubin; a sister; and two grandchildren.

We deeply regret to record the death, which took place following a protracted illness, at his residence, Kinuary, Westport on Thursday, of Mr. John McGing.

In his youth, deceased, husband of Mrs. Catherine McGing, was an industrious farmer and spent some time un the U.S.A., where he served in the 1914-1918 war.

The remains were removed to the Killawalla Church on Friday and the funeral took place to the nearby cemetery on Saturday. The attendees on both days was large and representative. On Sunday Mass was offered for the repose of his soul.

Private 1st Class John McGinn(McGing) served in Company L of the 319th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division of the United States Army from April 1918 to June 1919. He served on the Western Front in France from May 1918 until June 1919. This is from a history of the Division: "In World War I, the 80th Division reached full strength with 23,000 soldiers and sailed to France, landing on June 8, 1918. The 80th Division trained with the British Third Army and joined forces on the front lines near the Artois sector with heavy action in the Somme Offensive of 1918 and in the Meuse-Argonne. While not an actual townland, I suspect that whoever made the entry knew the area well enough to identify it specifically.
By the time of the Griffiths, Charles Crotty had cleared all his tenants from his (better) land in plot 1 above the road, onto the marginal much wetter lands in plot 2. His attempt to develop his country estate can still be seen in the enclosures and pastures in the landscape today, though his fine residence "Kinnewry House" is gone. The police barracks that was built for his protection still exists.

Catherine Keane was born in 1890 in Kinuary, Mayo, IrelandG. She and John McGing were married on January 2, 1922. She died on June 27, 1967, at age ~77, in Kinuary, Mayo, IrelandG.
