John McGing was born in 1812 in Arderry, Mayo, IrelandG. He and Bridget Sheridan were married about 1830 There are a series of children, mostly girls, born to John and Bridget McGing in Tonlegee in the 1830s. I think that there were two couples [John McGing and Bridget Sheridan and John McGing and Bridget Lyons], approximately the same age, in Tonlegee at the time, with both couples bearing children. He died on September 4, 1866, at age ~54, in Arderry, Mayo, IrelandG.

Died in Arderry on 4th September, 1866 aged 54 Years in the presence of Patt McGing Chronic Gastritis 12 months.( death cert.).

No birth or baptismal record found in Mayo and like brother, there is a birth in Dublin with a father James of a Ging, and as there were McGing's in Dublin then, perhaps born there lived Mayo?

John McGing was born in 1800 in Tonlegee, Mayo, IrelandG. He and Bridget Lyons were married in 1828 in Mayo, IrelandG, Date estimated based onm DOB of the firstborn. He died about 1875, at age ~75.

DOB is a guess based on DOM. I can't make this work from an age of kids pewrspective but it is what the lore of too many folks who have spent years looking at this say the way the family tree looks.
It may indeed be wrong but we can't prove it just like we can't disprove it.


For example, if son Thomas was born in 1838, it'd work, so at the oment, it's the view I'm taking.

Per Mary Chervenak, this John is a son of Bryan. No proofs just lore. DNA would help :)

But for the moment am linking these people into the main DNA tested branches.

Oldest McGing
The question is how does this person fit with the theoretical lineage DNA is proposing? As one of the oldest, he/she could be a sibling to others we know of but are unaware of the sibling relationship. If a Male McGing/McGinn Ging of this line could Y-DNA test at least a 37 (but must stress 67 is better) we'd know more and could triangulate back to the shared ancester. Moving earlier in time here is all conjecture, but looking for evidence and DNA is a key piece.

DOB a guess based on dates of children's birth.

Possibly there were two families in the area, assuming Tonlegee based on POB for kids.

Michael Lally was born on February 7, 1900 in Srah, Mayo, IrelandG. He and Ellen Kavanaugh were married on May 17, 1924 in Srah, Mayo, IrelandG, Marriage listed on baptismal record. He died in 1978, at age ~78.
