Patrick Joseph McGing age 81 of Wayne died Thursday, April 1, 2004 at home.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York and had lived in Garfield before moving to Wayne forty-five years ago.

Mr. McGing was a Printing Supervisor at the New York Daily News in New York City for forty years before his retirement in 1986.

He received his formal education at Andrew Jackson High School in Brooklyn graduating with the Class of 1941.

He served in the Navy Seabee's during World War II in the Pacific Theater of the War. He received the Philippine Liberation Medal, the American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific and the Victory Medals.

He was a member of the Navy Seabee Veterans of America National Island at Large. Patrick also belong to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1931 in Wayne. He also was a Life Member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Wayne Elks Lodge 2181, he also was a member of the Wayne Golden Age Circle.

Patrick and Josephine had fifty-five years of wonderful marriage. The had a special affinity for travel and had made twenty-six trips to the island of Aruba, three Alaskan cruises, many to the Caribbean. They also visited Rome Italy, Ireland and Czechoslovakia.

Pat enjoyed helping others and as an act of kindness would often be found clearing snow with his snow blower from the neighbors walks.

Surviving is his loving wife Josephine (nee Suchon) McGing.

His brother James McGing predeceased him in August of 1978.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 8:15 AM from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Our Lady of The Valley RC Church, Wayne where at 9 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday and Monday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.

Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook. www.vandermay.com

Josephine t. McGing age 90 of Wayne passed away peacefully while receiving the loving care of her family.

Josephine was born and raised in Garfield until moving to Wayne in 1959. In 1948, Josephine went to work for a company called Botany Woolen Mills. There, she measured materials used for soldier's uniforms following World War II. It was around this time when she went on a blind date for Chinese Food with a young man by the name of Patrick McGing. Pat would send her love letters, and after a wonderful courtship they were married on September 4, 1949. Josephine went on to work for Botany Woolen Mills for thirteen years. She then found a new job as a Photo Slicer at a company called Eastman Kodak in Fairlawn, NJ. She worked there until her retirement in 1986. Although Josephine and Patrick did not have children, they cherished 64 years of marriage until Patrick passed away in 2004. Josephine and Patrick loved traveling. They enjoyed cruises to Italy, Ireland, and Alaska. But above all her favorite place to visit was Aruba, where she had traveled to over sixty times. Josephine also took many trips with Wayne Township to various destinations, including Atlantic City, Florida, And Virginia.

Josephine also did not believe in hiring anyone to do anything that she could not do herself. She was quite handy around the house and a real do-it-yourself kind of girl. She loved to cook and was always quick to offer you a cup of tea. Josephine was a tough lady but she was also generous and would bend over backwards to help you and yet never ask for anything in return. She was dedicated to her Catholic Faith and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley RC Church in Wayne. Josephine was loved by her family and friends alike and she will be sincerely missed by all who knew her. Josephine was also very lucky to have loving family members like her niece Jean and Jean's daughter Sandra who cared for her as she became more elderly and could not take care of herself.

Josephine is survived by her 3 sisters; Emily Rusnak of Garfield, Helen Supko, and Dorothy Sweeney both of Wayne; her one niece Jean Richard and her children Sandra, Susan, and Jennifer; three nephews; Kevin Rusnak and his children Andrew and Ryan; Andrew Rusnak and his children Kristen, Lauren, Blair and Andrew; and Timothy Sweeney.

Friends may visit with the family at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne, on Saturday April 19th, 2014 from 8-10AM. Funeral Services will be held at 10AM at the conclusion of the visiting hours.

Interment will be in St Mary's Cemetery in Saddle brook.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a donation in Josephine's name are asked to consider the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St, Hackensack, NJ 07601.

Came to London in 1947. Was a WWII veteran, served in the 14th Army in the Burma campaign. Lived most of his adult life in and around London where he was at various times manager of different pubs. He was married and had a family. He died in September 1999.

The death took place in Croydon, England, on Thursday last, July 8th, of Mr. Stephen McGing, a native of Ayle, Westport.

He was husband of the late Peggy (nee Grimes), late of Doon, Westport. He is mourned by his sons, John and Michael; daughters, Ann and Maureen; brother, Dooney (Ayle); sister, Mary Daly (Mulranny), other relatives and many friends.

Stephen's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Croydon on Friday next, July 16th, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery. Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul in St. Patrick's Church, Aughagower, on Sunday next, July 18th at 11.30 a.m. May he rest in peace.
