Philip McGing (?24 July 1872?/ 1873-1930s) Goes to Liverpool around 1900, then to Butte, MT, to his brother Patrick. He arrives in NY on 20 July 1907. He lists his age as 30 on the ship's manifest. In 1910, the census records that he is 37 years old and is working in the copper mines as a miner. In 1930, he is living with his brother Austin and his wife in Seattle, where he works as a lumber inspector.

Ellen Tuohy was the fourth daughter of John and Mary Tuohy. On May 9th 1910 she entered the United States via Ellis Island, New York. The ship's Manifest reveals that she was joining her sister Anne, who had recently married Austin McGing, and who then lived at 1887 1st Avenue, New York. Ellen never returned from America, and was joined there later by another sister, Winifred.

Per Mary Chernavak, Austin's 2nd wife rented th farm out after he died and returned to Tourmakeady. The land was later sold to the forestry. Local lore has it that he was mentally ill, that he beat both wives and made life a living hell for both.

Catherine Caroline McGing was born on November 4, 1918 in Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, United StatesG. She and Francis Peter Phillips were married. She died on January 9, 2008, at age 89, in Duluth, St Louis County, MinnesotaG.

Catherine C. (McGing) Phillips, 89 of Duluth died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008 in Viewcrest Health Center. She was born Nov. 4, 1918 in St. Paul, to John and Bridget (Lydon) McGing. She graduated high school from St. Joseph's Academy in St. Paul, and from St. Catherine's College in St. Paul, with a Library Science and Teaching Degree in English. She taught school at Eden Valley, Minn., and Rush City, Minn., before moving to Duluth where she taught school in the Duluth school system. Catherine also worked at the Duluth Public Library. She was a member of St. Columba in St. Paul, Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary and most recently, St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was also a member and president of Council of Catholic Women. Catherine loved visiting with her friends and traveling. She was an inspiration to her family, showing love for books and learning. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Crosby. She is survived by her son, Pat (Gloria) Phillips; daughter, Kathy Collins, both of Duluth; three grandchildren, Brandon Phillips, Hope (Jeff) Austin-Phillips, and Andrew J. Vasil, Jr.; and several relatives and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL:11 a.m. Saturday in St. Michael's Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd St, Duluth, MN 55805, 218-727-3555.
