They later returned to Ireland and lived in Derrew, Partry where they went on to rear a large family: Thomas, Thady, Mary, Sara, Stephen, Martin, Patrick, Catherine, Maggie, Bridget, Honor, Barbara and Michael.

The question is how does this person fit with the theoretical lineage DNA is proposing? As one of the oldest, he/she could be a sibling to others we know of but are unaware of the sibling relationship. If a Male McGing/McGinn Ging of this line could Y-DNA test at least a 37 (but must stress 67 is better) we'd know more and could triangulate back to the shared ancester. Moving earlier in time here is all conjecture, but looking for evidence and DNA is a key piece.

The grooms father was John McGing, laborer and the brides father was Austin McGinn, Laborer. This marriage was solumnized by Austin McGinn and Mary McGinn in the presence of Thomas Bourke and Annie McGinn M. Bentham, Registrar. Austin McGing was also known as Austin McGinn. Austin McGinn (1870-29 Dec 1948. A 7 Nov 1872 date of birth is supplied by his son, but he gives his age as 40 on the 1910 census) married Mary McGinn, Ormskirk, Lancashire (5 July 1872-about 1931) on 2 Feb 1895. She was probably a distant cousin, descended from Brian McGing and Mary Walsh, who left Tonlegee around 1850. Austin and Mary had five children, although only two survived infancy. Lived in Blackburn, England.

Austin immigrated to Butte, MT in July 1907 and lived with his brother Patrick at 32 E. Woolman Street. His wife Mary and two sons stayed with his parents in Tonlegee until he earned the money for their fare to the USA. Mary and her sons arrived in NY on 15 Mar 1913. Austin became a naturalized citizen in Seattle in 1913. He is found in the 1930 census in Seattle, with his son Bernard and wife Mary. Also living with him is his brother Philip. [Between information found on Ellis Island ship manifests and census records and marriage records in England, Austin's birth may have been as early as 1870. November 7, 1878 date is found on death certificate and is probably inaccurate]. He died in Western State Hospital near Seattle.

Moved to Seattle in 1920. Worked in mine for 9 years in Butte.

July 20, 1907. Austin McGing, born in Westport, Ireland, arrived in New York on the ship Celtic. His prior residence was in Blackburn, England and he sailed from Liverpool, England. He was age 35 upon arrival, and married. His passage was paid for by his brother Patrick, who resided at 119 Wall St., Butte, Montana. He arrived with 37 pounds on his person. He is listed as being 5 foot 8 inches tall, of fair complexion, dark hair and brown eyes. (See July 26, 1903 and March 15, 1913)

Austin shown as age 40 and married in 1910 US census. Occupation was copper miner. Says came to US in 1906.

Found in 1930 US Census as well in Seattle.

1878 date of birth comes from death certificate. That states he died 12/29/1948 after being at the Western State Hospital for 1 year, 10 months. Previously resided at the Old Home Hotel in Seattle. He had heart problems and senility. He gave his birthplace as Westport Ireland and his father as John McGinn. He worked as a miner and longshoreman. The spot for marriage status is dashed out. His body was not buried or cremated, it was "removed".

Was admitted to hospital Feb 11,1947. There he stated that he was born in "West Borrow" and came to America at age 17. He came to Montana and then later went to Washington. Of course, whe he provided this information, he was admitted for waht seems to be old age senility.

Became citizen in Seattle in 1913.

Stated that he had 2 living children, 3 dead.

It is likely this couple married in Ireland as their children were born there but they may have traveled to Scotland if Scotland allegation son Michael was born there is true. However, it may well be that Michael is the one who went to work in Scotland after being born in Ireland, we just may never find out. But from Scotland fact I cannot find this family in Scotland Scottish census and that the BCs for Scotland later births were found, them staying in Mayo is more likely.

Catherine Marey was born in Gortmore, Mayo, IrelandG. She and Michael McGing were married 1886 SCottish MC of son Michael says Catherine is deceased 1885.

Cannot find any Irish or Scvottish records of marriage. She died in 1885.
