My grandfather was born May 17, 1868 and baptized there.the baptismal records of St. Peters Cathedral, Scranton, Pa lists Stephen Kanavey as christened on May 17, 1868[1], son of Eugene Kanavey and Sarah Madden (her death certificate shows her as Sarah Moran), it is signed by Rev Moses Whitty with sponsors Thomas Murphy and Bridget McDonnell. The spelling discrepancies are probably due to their names being written in Latin, being spoken in Irish or broken english, and both the unable to write.

Beloved wife of the late Mick Lally, loving mother of Saileog, Darach and Maghnus. Sister of Máire Ní Chonghaile, Áine de Blácam, Seán, Dara and the late Micheál Ó Conghaile.

Sadly, missed by her children, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, former nursing colleagues, neighbours and friends.
