John Lorig and Barbara Elizabeth Gerber were married.

John "Jake" Lorig passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2020. He will forever be missed and remembered as one of the greats. Jake tried his best to make everyone laugh. He was a smart, kind, and witty man who retired with the Cleveland Police in 2011 and spent the rest of his years watching his children grow. He is survived by his brother, Mitch Lorig, his son, Daniel Lorig, his daughters Aimee Lorig and Rebecca Crismor, his granddaughter Riley McCallion and his former wife Kathleen Lorig (nee Miller). A proud father, grumpy big brother, below average golfer, and sports fanatic will be the way we all remember Jake. Born in Memphis, TN to John Lorig and Barbara McGing (nee Gerber), spending some of his youth living in Molene, IL, Jake was a lifelong Cubs fan. He taught us to love music and see the humor in everything. He left us knowing that a bad day on the golf course was better than a good day at work. Those who knew him know that Jake will go down in history as a legend. The lives he touched are forever changed. A private ceremony to celebrate his life will be held with family.
