In looking for a family, the only one that seems like a good fit is either the Moyhastin group, headed by Patrick born about 1775 in my files or the line I think is mine, headed by James 1778. The name isn't taken by other children and the age is about right as well in both groups. But I lack any data to make that guess more than a guess. And Aunt May did say we had some in the family. So I added these folks to my line. Aunt May said, it's likely true.

Gus Hanley was born in 1929. He died on April 8, 1999, at age ~70, in Westport, Mayo, IrelandG.

Altamount Street, Westport and Bundoran
The death took place at Sligo General Hospital on Thursday, April 8,
following a prolonged illness, of Mr. Gus Hanley, a native of Altamount
Street, Westport, and latterly of Bundoran, Co. Donegal.

He was aged 70 years. He worked with Telecom Eireann for over 40 years,
retiring in 1994 when he received many accolades from management and work
colleagues.

Gus was a man of quiet and amiable disposition, always immensely popular
with his workmates and many friends in Bundoran, a man who never lost his
love for his native place.

He is mourned by his sisters, Aileen Hanley, Altamount Street, Westport;
Mrs. Kitty Dorrian (Derry); Teresa (Cork) and Mrs. Breda Manley (Chatham,
England); brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, former
Telecom colleagues and a wide circle of friends. He was brother of the late
Tomás Hanley, Fr. Angelus Park, Westport; the late Peggy Hanley, Altamount
Street, Westport; the late Moll McBrearty, Donegal and the late Esther
McGing, Dublin.

Removal was from McGing's Funeral Home, Westport, on Friday evening, April
9, to St. Mary's Church, Westport, where the remains were received by Fr.
John Gavin, C.C.

Burial took place in Aughavale Cemetery after 11a.m. Mass on Saturday, April
10, for the repose of his soul, celebrated by Fr. John Gavin.

May his soul rest in peace.
