Biography
Philip McGing was born in 1810 in Arderry, Mayo, IrelandG. He and Mary Sabina Derrig were married about 1836 in Westport, Mayo, IrelandG. He died on May 27, 1886, at age ~76, in Westport, Mayo, IrelandG.
Sister Helen says that he was called "Leather McGing".
Philip McGing (1810-27 May 1886) married Sabina Derrig, Westport (1814-12 Aug 1874, died of bronchitis) around 1837. He left the countryside for the town of Westport and worked as a leather merchant. Lived on High Street. He was known as "Leather Philip." Had at least 6 children, but I think most of them died young.
Tom Kenny says the same, wemt to Westport in the 1830s. Note that Myles was a leatherworker, and his father, per Aunt May, would have been called Leather James.

She died on 12 August, 1874 at 60 years of age. She died from bronchitis.and Michael McGing attended the deathbed. He must have been her son.

Biography
Julia McGing was born on September 13, 1852 in Aughaval, Mayo, IrelandG.
Baptismal sponsors Patrick Derrig and Mary McGing. No further record can be found. She either died while in infancy or emigrated, and we believe she emigrated because of the following:
October 9, 1920 Patrick McGing, age 35 and his family returned to New York on the ship Aquitania, which had left from Southampton, England.
Patrick and Mary had been in the US before, in 1905 and 1913, and Margaret Ellen had been in 1913 as well. This was the 1st visit for the other children. The manifest shows that they intended to stay permanently. They were heading to Patrick's aunt's house, Julia McGing, 5416 S. Lincoln, Chicago. This Julia fits that description.
