Summary of Lisa Ferrer's memories of Chris Didousis

I don't know that his name was Christopher or just Chris. and I may have the spelling of Didousus wrong. I do speak Greek fluently that is the spelling I was given but try Dedousis. That seems right from a Greek language standpoint. In fact … that has to be it

Chris's mother was Violet Christian.

Violet (Christian) was my grandmother's sister and died probably in 1965 ish. I know I was very young. [SSA records say she died in 1967 in Mt Vernon NY] She worked as a model and as a waitress. She was very beautiful but not very mentally stable. She attempted suicide many times and Chris discovered her many times.

She died after one of the first open heart surgeries performed. She did not have any other children. She was in our home daily and was my grandmother's favorite sister and she and my mother were very close.

We all loved her very much the family saga is that her heart was broken when Efthemios (Tommy) left her for his aunt and went to California. Aunt Vi as she was called was the girlfriend of a married man or two but never was seriously involved with anyone that I am aware of after Tommy.

Chris was born in 1943, March 8th. He would have been 21 in 1964. He was in D'anamora in NY I think when he died. [See update on that later]

Chris was here in NJ with his mother, Violet Christian. He lived in Newark in an apartment complex called Ivy Hill. Efthemios (his father) (Efthemios went by Tommy) left Violet and went to California to live (apparently as man and wife) with his aunt. I do not know if it was his biological aunt or his uncle's wife.

[NOTE: There is a Louis Didousis who married in Pennsylvania who I believe might be Tommy's brother. I saw an Ancestry record regarding Louis that I believe listed the man who was Tommy's dad. That could be the uncle whose wife Chris took up with. Just something to consider.]

Chris as he grew up was in trouble often. He did do a stint in the military as it was in lieu of jail time I think that is when he was 18. [Cannot find records on that but if he is dead and we can find a death cert, we may be able to get them from eth National Archives.] He returned home to NJ and then left home for his father's in California [Tommy had a home in San Bernardino] as my great Aunt Violet was ill and could not control him. [Note - This timeline does make sense with Robert and then with Audrey a few years later.]

He was supposed to learn the restaurant business as his father owned a restaurant there. He apparently and this is in my (Lisa Ferrer's) lifetime so I remember it although I was maybe 4 (about 1964 - 65) ... returned with a woman who was his father Tommy's wife and who was much older than Chris and he lived with her as his lover for a while. [Would be interesting if we can look at CA marriage records, but Vegas is possible too out west.]

Chris lived in NY worked with mafia organized crime; we were very close to him and my mother and he were best friends as well because they were one day apart 1st cousins.

He was at my grandmother's house very often and would come and stay when things got "hot' in NY. He was in and out of prison always. [Those would be interesting records to find] Eventually he got sent to D'anamora but I found out today did not die there but died in a prison in southern states I'm trying to find out which one. [that would be good information to find]

What is strange is that the picture of Audrey looks very much like my aunt Vi .. very much not sure how that could be or if simply a coincidence. The woman that I thought I had met was blonde whether natural or not I don't know I was only about 4 ish.

Chris married a woman named Sue in NY in the 70s and had two children with her a boy and a girl probably around 65 ish. I remember them staying with us for like young kid sleep overs. I was probably 10ish and my brother was 7ish. The son was older and the daughter a couple of years younger. So they would be about 54 and 51 ish now. [These half siblings would be a treasure trove but NY records are hard to get for living people.]

As I said his father was Efthimias Dedousis who owned a restaurant in LA and I believe that a woman named Dee had been HIS wife and then ran off with Chris for a short period of time. She was much older than Chris.

I asked my mom and she thinks that Dee would be about 80 ish now. Chris died in prison 25 years ago, he was a career criminal although very charming at times.

Donnetta Lynn Dobbins was born on October 26, 1966 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CaliforniaG. She died on November 2, 2023, at age 57, in TexasG.

Donnetta Lynn Wright departed this world on November 2, 2023, at her home in La Porte surrounded by her loved ones. Over the past year she battled cervical cancer fiercely and was such a fighter.

Dee was such a free spirit, who enjoyed caring for her family. She loved to cook and host dinners. She also loved gardening and teaching her grand babies how to crochet. Dee was born in Los Angelas, California on October 26, 1966, and shortly after she was adopted by Bobbie and Lewis Dobbins. Dee was a wonderful mother to Danielle Wright, Angela Wright, Kelsey Wright, and Kelton Wright II. She was a stepmother to Keith Manis and Kristen Jones, whom she thought of as her own children. Dee was an amazing memaw to her grandchildren; Kobe Jones, Carolyn Wooley, Aubrianna Saldivar, Dante Jones, Easton Manis, Everett Manis, Liam Saldivar, Skylar Bell, Ellie Rajewich and Stetson Rajewich.

Dee is preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Bardelli; Stepfather, Anthony Bardelli; and brother, John Beales. Dee is survived by her father, Lewis Dobbins; sisters, Marie McGing and Marie Maricich; brother, Robert Glickstein; and loving husband, Kelton Wright. Dee was also very loved by her many nieces and nephews; David Wright, Candice Wright, Jennifer Barton, Tabitha Henry, Clayton Wright II, Felicia Wright, Robbie Wright, Tiffani Wright, and Kimberly Wright.

Services will take place at Clayton Funeral home on November 9th at 11:00am. In Lieu of flowers the family request plants, so that Dee's children can continue her love for gardening.
