(Research):ERNST, Sheila C. "Red" (nee Tuffy) age 66, of Beavercreek passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Miami Valley Hospital following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward L. Ernst in 1970 ; her parents, John J. and Mary Ellen (Keane) Tuffy; two sisters, Mary Jane Sutphin and Margaret "Peggy" Haas and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Viola (Post) Ernst. Sheila was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who is survived by her son, Joseph (Sherri) Ernst, of Beavercreek; her daughter, Catherine Ernst, of Bellbrook; a sister, Barbara Smead, of KY; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Patrick, Tristan, Joseph, and Zachary; a special niece, Joani Austin, of Bellbrook; special family friend, Father Patrick Tonry, of Dayton and several other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sheila was employed as a supervisor with the Marianist Missions with over 30 years of service. She was a graduate of Holy Family Elementary School and Wilbur Wright High School. She was extremely proud of her Irish background. Prayers will be held 11:15 A.M. on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 P.M. at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin Street, with Father Patrick Tonry as the celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. If desired, contributions may be made in memory of Sheila to the American Cancer Society .
