Rachael Edna Vigarino, 75, passed from this life into the next on September 22nd, greeted by her adoring husband and other family members that preceded her into the Heavenly Realms, including her parents who perished when she was a small child. She is preceded in death by her parents Marion Eleanor and Francis Milton Collins, her husband, Nicholas John Vigarino, Jr., sister; Stephanie Rodriguiz and her children, nephews Keith, Thomas and James Sabo and Uncle Donald Carner, who had a significant hand in raising her into the strong woman she became. Her family ushered her into the arms of Jesus, of whom she had a great and tremendous faith and personal relationship with. She eventually succumbed to multiple ailments, including cancer, of which she fought valiantly to the end. She surpassed everyone's expectations including her own, her physicians and everyone around her. Rachael is the strongest of fighters and squeezed out every bit that life had left to offer her. She had no fear of transitioning from her physical body to her Heavenly Body and was very much anticipating the incredible reunion with her loved ones and going Home. She loved her family fiercely and will be missed by all tremendously. She had many great loves: her husband, sister, Aunts, Uncles, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, in-laws, nephews, nieces, God children, and many dear friends throughout the years, even her new friends that assisted her in her final days. She had a great love for baseball, especially for her dear Astros and never missed watching a game, rooting on Jose Altuve at every inning. Rachael spent over 40 years as a registered nurse, with accolades for excellence everywhere she worked. She began her illustrious career with Dr. Debakey in Houston at Methodist Hospital Downtown. Letters and gifts poured out of patients for her amazing bedside manner, patient care and kindness. She was a devoted animal lover and always had dogs, cats, birds or horses throughout her life. Her faithful and loyal companions Buddy and Jax were by her side until the very end. She was a mean card player and adored playing games with her family on special occasions, especially Spades, Guesstures and Christmas Song Karaoke (albeit a little off key). Family occasions were complete with great food, laughter and listening to her husband dance across the ivories. Rachael instilled caring for others, working hard and faith in her children, family and all those that knew her. She was a devout Christian, Patriot and had tremendous pride as an American and for 44 years, a proud Texan and Houstonian. She began her life in Washington DC, and spent her youth in Youngstown, Ohio, until 1978, then moved to the Great State of Texas. She leaves behind her children, her son Nicholas Jaye Vigarino and his wife, Heide, daughter Debbie Passmore and husband Danny, daughter Theresa Vigarino and husband Victor, stepson Nicholas John Vigarino, and grandchildren, Christopher, Vanessa, Richard, Jessica, Steven, Kristine, Andrew and Trevor, and great-grandchildren, Eli, Venus and Aria. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 29th, 1:00pm for viewing, followed immediately with service at 2pm, at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champions Forest Drive. If you would like to send flowers, please do. If you would like to donate to the family foundation, Moms House For Children, who is building a childcare center for orphans in Africa and Peru, that is inspired by Rachael's childhood, becoming orphaned early in life, you can contribute in her honor: https://www.classy.org/campaign/moms-house-2021-contribution/c301652 Be happy! Love your life! Love one another!
