Walter Cummings was born on April 12, 1922 in PennsylvaniaG. He and Anna Mae Benz were married on April 13, 1948 in PennsylvaniaG. He died on April 27, 2015, at age 93, in PennsylvaniaG.

Walt was the beloved Husband of the late Anna Mae (Benz) for 36 years; Endearing father of Judy (Tim) Mahler of Export, and Patty (Ray) McDonough of Swissvale; Loving grandfather of Ray McDonough (Anni), Erin (Ryan) Benedetti, Julie (Steve) Clemens, Joseph (Heather) Schlanger, and Kristen (Nate) Zawoyski; Cherished great- grandfather of Charlie & Jonah Benedetti, and Cooper, Delaney, & Addie Clemens.

Walt was the brother of Rosemary O'Hara of Forest Hills & Winifred Conway of Penn Hills, and was preceded in death by his brothers Martin, Francis, and Jack Cummings, as well as sisters Eileen and Kathleen Cummings. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Walt was a WWII Navy veteran and began his civilian career as a winder with Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh plant. He then became a Union Steward with the Local #601 of the I.U.E and later served as Recording Secretary, Chief Steward, and President of the Local. For the last 15 years of his career, Walt was an International Representative of the I.U.E./C.W.A. During his free time Walt enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He took great pride in his Irish heritage. However, Walt was most pleased to spend time with his family, especially when attending activities and sports events of his grandchildren.
