Philip P. Giblin, 100, formerly of DeWitt and Thousand Island Park, passed away Thursday at Sunnyside Care Center. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth M. (Bette) Giblin. Surviving are his sister, Kathleen Loftus; son, Terrence (Karen) Giblin; grandchildren, Susan (Jerry) Seawood and Michael Giblin; great-grandchildren are Makayla and Donovan Seawood and Lucas Giblin. Philip was stationed in Persia as a Technical Sergeant in WWII, earned a BA in accounting from University College and retired in 1979 from Rome Strip Steel. Philip sang with the DeWitt Coraleers and volunteered at Crouse Hospital for 13 years. A memorial service will be held at Rockefeller United Methodist Church, 350 Nottingham Rd., Syracuse 13224 on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m. Burial will be at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Rescue Mission or a charity of your choice.
