Mr. King was a native of St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a World War II and Korea Veteran of the United States Navy. He entered the Navy in 1938 and retired in 1963. He was a member of The Church of the Holy Family in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a retired oil analyst, Norfolk Air and Rework Facility. He retired in 1984 after 21 years.

Mr. King was a Fourth Degree Member and Past Faithful Navigator, and Past Grand Knight of the Father Nicholas J. Habets Council, 4632, of the Knights of Columbus, Former State Master of the Virginia District of the Knights of Columbus, Past President of the Columbian Club of Virginia Beach, Member of the Oceana Swindlers Golf Association.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Rita A. King of Virginia Beach; 3 daughters, Mary Rose of Virginia Beach, Theresa McCormick of Orange Park, FL., Patrice King of Atlanta, GA.; 2 sons, A. William King Jr. of Chesapeake, Michael King of Pompano Beach, FL.; a stepdaughter, Linda Nolasco of Virginia Beach; 3 sisters, Winnie Hunt, and Rose Mary Roppeau both of Woodbury, Minnesota, Kathy Biederman of Gordon, Wisconsin; a brother, Robert King of St. Paul, Minnesota; and 8 grandchildren, including Jonathan Stauffer whom he raised as a son.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at The Catholic Church of the Holy Family by Reverend Richard T. Mooney. Entombment will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park.

A Christian Wake service will be held in The Catholic Church of the Holy Family, Monday Evening at 7:00 P.M. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad or the KOVAR, C/O Knights of Columbus, P.O. Box 3167, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd. will be handling the arrangements.

(Research):Kathleen T. Biedermann, age 72, of Knapp, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at the Red Cedar Medical Center-Mayo Health System in Menomonie.

The former Kathleen Theresa King was born April 20, 1933, in St. Paul, Minn., to Austin and Winifred (Reddington) King. Kathleen worked as a nurses' aid at Gillette Shriner's Hospital in St. Paul and then in pediatrics at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.

Kathleen married Norman Biedermann on Feb. 27, 1959, in Iowa. They later moved to Wisconsin where Kathleen enjoyed raising her family. After retiring, they moved to Minong and she worked for the Minong School District. They have lived in Knapp the past three years.

Kathleen enjoyed bowling, fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles, and handwork, like embroidery, and her favorite sport was playing the slot machines. But the love of her life was children!

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jack, Jim and Bill King, and a grandson, Nicholas.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at the Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.

(Research):Norman E. Biedermann, 78, of Baldwin, died on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at American Heritage Care Center in Hammond.

Norman was born on March 28, 1934, to Adam and Nora (Roeben) Biedermann. He was married to Kathleen King on Feb. 28, 1959.

During his lifetime, he was employed at Swiss Miss, The Arsenal in New Brighton, Minn., and the St. Paul Union Depot. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in art education and enjoyed woodcarving.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; parents; grandson, Nicholas; and brothers, Ray, Earl and Richard.

A memorial service for Norman will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services.
