Marcella "Marcy" Mabry, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 31, 2022. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Marcy was born on March 26, 1964 in Juliet, Illinois to Patrick and Patricia Hubauer. She was the youngest of five siblings and often spoke fondly of her childhood. After graduating from the University of South Alabama with a degree in elementary education, she embarked on her lifelong passion: teaching elementary school. Over her 20 years as an educator, Marcy was devoted to her school and students. She loved that she was able to share her passion for learning with hundreds of students over the years.

Marcy met her husband, Steve, after college and they quickly became lifelong companions. They married on April 15, 1989 and together, raised 5 children: Gretchen, Catherine "Katie," Olivia, William, and David. As a loving grandmother, "Neena" adored her two grandchildren: Josiah and Mary-Kate.

Marcy loved to spend time with her family and supported of all her children's activities and adventures. Marcy loved to bake, read, and spend time doing anything and everything with Steve. She was the ultimate hostess of any gathering and always made others feel comforted and loved in her home.

Marcy is survived by her husband, Steve; children Gretchen, Katie and son-in-law Luke, Olivia, William, and David; grandchildren Josiah and Mary-Kate; siblings Beth and Mike Smith, Ellen and Ken Bellendir, Chris and Terri Hubauer, and Julie and Matt Koetzle; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
