Lillian M. "Nana" Judis (nee Siminski), age 91, of Hammond, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at St. Catherine Hospital and entered into the gates of Heaven joining her loved ones, especially her beloved daughter, Patricia. She is survived by loving daughter, Barbara Johnson of Hammond, with whom she made her home; three grandchildren. whom she dearly loved, Lisa (Kevin) McGing and Laura (James) Pardonek of Hammond and Edward (Nancy) Wojcik of Munster; dear son-in-law, Edward W. Wojcik of Hammond; 10 special great-grandchildren: Melissa, Gregory, Lindsey and Daniel McGing, Larry, Adam and Sara Keilman, Joshua, Jacob and Alyssa Wojcik; one brother, Joseph (Loretta) Siminski of Hammond; one nephew, William (Alice) Siminski of South Bend; two nieces, Cynthia (Ronald) Fary of Hammond and Monica (Andre) Correa of Hammond; 10 great nieces and nephews; special friend and frequent companion, Ashley Higgason of Hammond, adopted daughter No. 3, Donna (Arthur) Rogers of Hammond; adopted special helper, Rick Carothers of Hammond; special friends: Sister Lorine and Betty Grubesec; and also her faithful pet Delilah. Preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin, brother, Dr. William Siminski, sister, Helen Siminski and beloved daughter, Patricia Wojcik.
Lillian was born and raised in East Chicago, IN, and had been a resident of Hessville for over 30 years, and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Lillian was a lover of animals and a frequent supporter of the Humane Society of the Calumet Area. However, her priority in life has always caring for and about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed and her memory will live on in the hearts she left behind.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2002, 9:15 a.m. prayers from the Virgil Huber Funeral Home Chapel with 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Hessville, Father Rick Orlinski officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Virgil Huber Funeral Home 7051 Kennedy Ave., Hessville, IN. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family for Masses.
