Mary McGing was also known as Mary Ging. Mary McGing (abt 1806-?), possibly a sister, married Philip O'Brien (abt. 1800-?) of Bohaun on 13 Feb 1825. Mary could have been from Glen Mask, Arderry, Croaghrim, Tonlegee or Kenury. If this Mary were a sister to Patrick, John, Philip, and Austin McGing of Arderry, her son Philip O'Brien would have married his first cousin, Bridget McGing. Although frowned upon by the Catholic Church, such marriages were not unheard of, since older generations subscribed to the belief of marrying their own people. If Mary was not a sister, she was probably a cousin. Ann O'Brien, Bohaun, married Daniel McGing, Tonlegee. These two unions may have been brother and sister marrying sister and brother, not unusual at the time. Mary McGing, quite possibly, was a Tonlegee McGing.

Reposing at McGing's Funeral Home, Westport (F28 RX58) on Monday (July 17th) from 5:30pm with removal at 7:00pm to St. Mary's Church, Westport.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday (July 18th) at 11:00am with the funeral proceeding to Aughavale cemetery.
