The Parish from which St Helen's was formed is that of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and the cathedral would have been the parish for the family address. I will return your check and include the contact information for the Cathedral and the other parishes of possible interest. My record search included appropriate registers for St. Helen, St John the Baptist and the nearby parishes of Mt Carmel, St. Alphonsus and St Therese. Per the obituary of Rosa McGuire Connor, Stephen Connor's mother in 1938, she was survived by a grandchild named Stephen A Connor Jr of Fresno. Yet his obituary in 1946 mentions no surviving children. Yet his wife Jane says there was a Patrick Thomas Connor as a child.

Note, per his answers, he was 1st married in 1914, so perhaps he was married before he married Mary Jane? She says married in 1921.

Stephen A. Connor, 62, of 500 South Backer Ave, a retired grocer, died yesterday in a local sanitarium following an operations. He had been in ill; health for the past 12 years.

Connor was born in San Juan and had lived in Fresno for 24 years. He was a book keeper by profession.

His survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mary J. Connor of Fresno, a brother James B. Connor of Santa Maria and a sister, Evelyn Bosch of San Francisco.

The services wil be held in Santa Marie. Sullivan, Burns and Blair are in charge of local arrangements.

Was witness at wife's brothers wedding?

Here's the deal in as simple a way as I can put it. There are McGinns in the US who can trace their ancestry to McGings in Kinuary. They are dna cousins to my family (match siblings, father and paternal cousins) so we are related. The records don't go back that far back for the match to work via paper records, but given the dna, the line has to play out as I have proposed even if the names and vitals of the men who fit that role are and likely will remain unknown. That family tree lines up with known records and with dna, even if there are gaps. (Research):Oldest McGing
The question is how does this person fit with the theoretical lineage DNA is proposing? As one of the oldest, he/she could be a sibling to others we know of but are unaware of the sibling relationship. If a Male McGing/McGinn Ging of this line could Y-DNA test at least a 37 (but must stress 67 is better) we'd know more and could triangulate back to the shared ancester. Moving earlier in time here is all conjecture, but looking for evidence and DNA is a key piece.

Per Aunt May, there was a Myles McGing who had a son names James. But there was also another James in Westport. This James had to be the son of a different man, so my conjecture is that Myles had a brother who also had a son named James. And based on the frequeny of James in this scenario, I'm going to name this completely conjectural parent of Myles James McGing and his other son James McGing and his grandson (the 2nd James McGing that Aunt May said was around when Myles and his son existed) is also a James.

PURE SPECULATION based on Aunt May's story.

In other words, I doni't really know if their names were Michael or James or whatever, but someone was this person and because the DNA says we are related, we know, no matter what their names, they existed in this kind of relationship.

So we can agree on a name but the point remains, we share this man in our different lineages.

Found in 1930 Census but not in 1940 Census. Maybe joined military? Deceased? Looking for him now.

Going to presume he died before the 1940 census for now.

Wonder if I should request his SS-5 (the one who died in 1976.....)
